There are several reasons why you should have art in your home, however, there are some obstacles that prevent us from getting art portraits, in this specific case: space.

Space sometimes seems to be the biggest problem for many of us, many people believe that if you don't have space, you can't have art because good art is big and space is not enough, there are also those who believe that if you have artwork it will make the space looks even smaller or more overcrowded.

In this article you will find different ideas to collect art portraits in the little apartments and make them look beautiful, a good idea is to look for art websites as galleries where you can filter according to your preferences and some of these tips.

Style and colors

This is something that some people ignore, although it makes a big difference in our mental perception. Color is a visual illusion of space, some colors make spaces appear larger or smaller, however, if we talk about art portraits, the color selection should be synchronized with the palette of your house, choose a palette that matches your walls and furniture. In this way, it will look clearer, organized and you will not clutter the visual space.

The same thing happens with styles, if you like a certain style, it is a good idea to try to look for things that match it or perhaps that have similar sizes, techniques, materials, or something related that makes them look more coherent and organized. It is not as important as colors because as we know art is diverse so if you like abstract portraits and realism at the same time it's ok, the key is that they look good in the same place. The idea is to create a space that you like it where you feel good and comfortable.

Illuminates and reflects

If you like mirrors it is a good opportunity to include them, if you want to make your house appear larger, you can use mirrors strategically to make the light reflect and give clarity to the space and to the art portraits at the same time. The lighter, the more artwork details will be visible. You can also use spotlights or directional lighting to highlight specific art portraits and produce visual depth.

Frames and forgotten spaces

If you like the contemporary style, you can consider using art portraits without frames, this will free up unnecessary space and give you more possible spaces to include works of art. This is as useful as using thin frames that are less bulky. If you have art portraits with thin frames you will be able to include art in forgotten but useful places, such as hallways or corners.

Abstract portraits

Abstract portraits are one of the favorites of many in these cases, this type of art has great adaptability to any style due to the figures and colors it has. It provides visual stimulation without cluttering, it simply enhances boring spaces and gives an illusion of spaciousness. Abstract art portraits are easy to move from one place to another and blend easily with elements from any space.
